Guy Laroche, great French designer and couturier, founded his couture house in Paris in 1957. At the time he stood out for his bold style, signed with bright colors and extravagant shapes, and he modernized couture making it refined and pleasant to wear . A perfume license was signed with the l'Oréal group in 1965, with which he launched the emblematic men's fragrance Drakkar Noir in 1982.

The men's fragrance Drakkar Noir represents "the sweet violence of a man's perfume". Combining strength and seduction, the Drakkar Noir bottle for men is presented in a simple and minimalist design. Colored in black as a tribute to masculinity, it has the shape of a square with rounded corners, which embodies a very virile and sensitive man at the same time. Laroche cultivates the bad boy image, a shirtless Adonis with a muscular body under a burnt leather jacket.

Launched in 1982, the Drakkar Noir olfactory composition was created by perfumer Pierre Wargnye. For this typically masculine creation, the fragrance falls into the category of aromatic fragrances. The masculine scent of the Drakkar Noir opens with top notes of rosemary, basil, verbena and lavender, giving it an invigorating freshness typical of the colognes of the time. The heart has a spicy character with cinnamon, combined with the peppery scent of juniper and coriander that adds some greenery to the whole. Finally, Drakkar Noir ends on a base of aromatic and present notes of patchouli, vetiver, oakmoss, cedar and pine, which give the fragrance a warm and sporty trail.
